There may still be four games left in this season, but Arsenal are already beginning to prepare for the next. Across the course of their unexpected Premier League title charge, the Gunners have learned the importance of a deep squad and are determined to strengthen this summer.
The primary area Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen in is midfield. football.london understands that Declan Rice is their main target in this area. Arsenal would like to do a deal around the £80million mark, but West Ham's insistence that Rice become a record transfer for an English player could make things complicated. The Gunners also want to strengthen in defence where football.london understands Marc Guehi is among the targets. Jakub Kiwior impressed as a right sided centre back against Chelsea, but there is a feeling that more is still needed there given the impact that William Saliba's absence has had. Edmond Tapsoba is another player who has been looked at.
Elsewhere reports have suggested that Edu could be on the hunt for a forward player. Moussa Diaby has been heavily linked, although the early signs are that Arsenal face a battle to land the Frenchman, with Newcastle, Real Madrid and Manchester United all said to be interested.
