Arsenal have been backed to win the Premier League title despite the injury suffered by Gabriel Jesus, with former England boss Sven Goran-Eriksson saying that the Gunners have what it takes.
However, their chances have been hampered by the news that Gabriel Jesus will miss a number of months following a knee injury suffered while on international duty with Brazil at the World Cup. The striker has scored five goals in 14 Premier League appearances so far this season and has been an important part of Mikel Arteta's side reaching the summit of the Premier League table.
The former Manchester City man has provided an update on the Medial Cruciate Ligament injury which is set to rule him out until February at the earliest having undergone successful surgery on December 6 having left the Brazil camp in Qatar. He posted a picture to Instagram of himself smiling as he left hospital with the caption: "Hora de ir para casa" (Time to go home).

Arsenal face Arteta's former club in what will be a crucial test of their title credentials on February 15, and they will be hoping that Jesus can return before then with City five points behind in the title race at present and appearing to be the strongest challengers.
Former England boss Sven Goran-Eriksson has commented on the player's status in an interview with OLBG, stating that the Gunners can still win the Premier League. However, he commented on potential deputy Eddie Nketiah saying that he has not seen enough of the 23-year-old to pass judgment on how well he will fare in Jesus' absence.
He explained: "Gabriel Jesus' injury is very bad for Arsenal, but I still think they can win the Premier League. I have not seen much of Eddie Nketiah but I have seen Arsenal a few times and I think Mikel Arteta is doing a fantastic job. It will be hard to beat Manchester City because they don't lose many games."
