Arsenal player ratings vs Crystal Palace as Ben White and Granit Xhaka star, Saka scores two

Aaron Ramsdale: Hardly had anything to do but still conceded. Will be disappointed by that. Nearly had an Emi Martinez moment early on but was fortunate the ball bounced away. 6.

Ben White: Superb offensively on the day with precise delivery and excellent decision making in the final third. His assist for Saka was delightful. Probably shouldn't have given away the corner in the build up to Schlupp's goal, but was so good aside from that he probably just about earns a pass. 8.

Rob Holding: A solid first Premier League start of the season from Holding. Slightly overcommitted on one instance in the first half but judged his pressing well aside from that. Some nice distribution from defence too. 7.

Gabriel: A relatively quiet day for the Brazilian who marshalled the high line well. Some nice distribution from the back, an area of his game that has really improved recently. 6.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Solid as ever in possession on the left hand side. Much of Arsenal's good attack seemed to come down the right in the early play so not quite as influential as usual. 7.

Thomas Partey: A really good first half performance from the Ghanaian who was excellent on the ball in the first half in particular. Defensively pretty good in transitions too. 7.

Granit Xhaka: The Swiss international really seems to have got his attacking spark back in recent weeks. Influential in the final third against Fulham and now two goals in two games since then. He's rediscovering his best form at just the right time for Arsenal. 8.

Martin Odegaard: A relatively quiet day for the Norwegian, but his attacking contributions in the right hand unit during the first half were key. Faded a little in the second. 7.

Bukayo Saka: Two superbly taken goals from the England international. The first showed composure the second showed class. An assist for Martinelli on top of that showed how decisive he was in the game. 8.

Leandro Trossard: The Belgian just fits this Arsenal attack like a glove. A superb pass to free up Xhaka for his goal and excellent pressing and rotation throughout. 8.

Gabriel Martinelli: A really well taken goal from the Brazilian to put his Thursday night penalty miss behind him. Had been good before that too and was solid after it. 8.

SUBSTITUTES

Gabriel Jesus: The Arsenal fans were desperate for him to score, but with some quality link up play he showed the extra part of the game he brings other than goals. Another impressive cameo as we gear up to his full comeback after the break. 7.

Kieran Tierney: A really good cameo from the Scottish international who was excellent defensively and showed good pace to stop Olise. His highlight though as a superb assist for Bukayo Saka's second. 8.

Jorginho: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Emile Smith Rowe: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Jakub Kiwior: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
