Arsenal's unbeaten start in the WSL is over after Manchester United scored twice in the final minutes of normal time to edge a five goal thriller, 3-2.
In front of more than 40,000 fans at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal trailed to Ella Toone’s goal at half-time, but looked to have saved their league record winning streak with two goals in the second half. The Gunners equalised when Frida Maanum's shot took a deflection off Maya Le Tissier, with defender Laura Wienroither then volleying in a goal that looked to have earned a 15th straight league win.
But headers by Millie Turner and Alessia Russo in the final five minutes of normal time completed a sensational turnaround and left the Emirates stunned, bar a jubilant away end in the far corner.
Player Ratings
Manuela Zinsberger - A disappointing night for the Arsenal number one. Her error gave Toone a simple finish for the opening goal and put the Gunners on the back foot. However, she had already made a smart save in the opening minutes to prevent Leah Galton scoring. 5
Laura Wienroither - A brilliant strike that looked to have given Jonas Eidevall’s team the win until the dying minutes was probably the moment of the night for the home supporters. Recovered well after a shaky start against Leah Galton. Second half display was probably one of her best since joining in January. 7
Lotte Wubben-Moy - carried the ball well out of defence as her side took the initiative in the second half but struggled to deal with Russo’s physicality. Another learning curve for the young defender. 6
Steph Catley - The versatile Aussie stopper never stopped running, but was left exposed by the pace United were countering with in the first half. 5
Katie McCabe - Showed what she can do going forward with a superb delivery for Wienroither’s goal, one of the assists of the season so far. Gave Arsenal an attacking outlet down the left channel throughout the second half. 7
Lia Walti - Struggled to impose herself in opening 45 before improving after the break, but the same could be said for a number of her midfield colleagues. 5
Jordan Nobbs - A tough night for the skipper who was always up against in the engine room. Ran herself into the ground trying to help the team, before going off for Vivianne Miedema. 5
Frida Maanum - Although she received a big slice of fortune, due to a deflection, on her goal Maanum deserves credit for carrying the ball from her own half to a dangerous position. This was one of her quieter displays overall. 6
Beth Mead - A rare quiet night at the Emirates for the England forward. Received a brilliant reception when the teams were read out but struggled to impose herself on the game. 5
Caitlin Foord - Probably Arsenal’s biggest threat after half-time, her movement causing Le Tissier and Turner problems in the United backline. Flashed a shot over when the game was level. 7
Stina Blackstenius - Put herself about but was often caught out by the offside flag. Struggled to force any errors when pressing the United defence, but a solid enough display. 6
