Arsenal plan to invite Arsene Wenger to Premier League clash but only on one condition

Arsenal are planning to invite legendary former manager Arsene Wenger to their final Premier League match of the season against Wolves later this month, according to the Daily Mail.

However, it is claimed that the invitation will only be sent to the Frenchman provided Mikel Arteta's side are still in the title race going into the match. Wenger attended his first match at the Emirates Stadium since leaving the club back in 2018 when the Gunners played West Ham United on Boxing Day 2022.

Arsenal won 3-1 that day and looked favourites to lift the title up until last month, when a run of four games without a win saw them relinquish their advantage over Manchester City. The Citizens now sit one point clear of their title rivals whilst also boasting a game in hand over Arteta and co.

Plenty of fans and pundits alike have claimed that the Gunners therefore 'bottled' their chance at ending their 19-year wait for a league title, something Arteta has now addressed. When asked about these claims, the Spaniard replied by saying:‌ "I cannot control what people think.

"We try to do our best and make our people as proud as possible and try as hard as possible to win the games. That’s what we have to do.

‌“It’s what happens in this league when you make errors. The teams punish you. Sometimes we get lucky and they don’t.

"But it happened in the last few games when we have made those errors that the teams have punished us and it cost us points, that’s for sure.”
