Everyone associated with Arsenal is loving life at the moment as the Gunners fly high at the top of the Premier League table after 20 games played.
However, morale would have taken a dent following Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Everton at Goodison Park. The Gunners were second-best to a Toffees side that had new life sparked into them following the appointment of Sean Dyche.
It was a turbulent January transfer window for Mikel Arteta's men, who failed to land a number of their priority targets despite their status as league-leaders. Instead, the Gunners were forced to turn to alternative options, such as former Brighton ace Leandro Trossard instead of Mykhaylo Mudryk and ex-Chelsea star Jorginho.
The latter endured a debut to forget on the blue half of Merseyside, and Mirror Football has taken a look at the main talking points centred around Arsenal on February 5.
Jorginho's first outing
Arteta chose to start his newest recruit on the bench for the trip to Everton, but Jorginho was eventually introduced just before the hour mark. Just 60 seconds after coming on, the Gunners found themselves 1-0 down after James Tarkowski headed home from a corner on the hour mark.
From that point onwards, it was hardly a scenario that suited the Italian, with Arsenal chasing a game that they found particularly hard to control from the first whistle. Arteta, the Arsenal fans and Jorginho himself will be hoping for significantly better in the weeks to come as the Gunners' title hopes suffered a rare dent with the 1-0 defeat at Everton.

Martinelli's moment with Edu
Gabriel Martinelli put pen to paper on a contract extension with the Gunners on Friday morning, committing his long-term future to Arsenal and ending any fears he could be on the move any time soon. By the looks of things, few are happier about that news than the club's sporting director, Edu, a fellow Brazilian who has long championed Martinelli since his arrival in 2019 as an 18-year-old.
Following confirmation of his extension, Arsenal released plenty of pictures of Martinelli signing his new deal and in most of them, he is accompanied by a large group, mainly made up of his girlfriend, family and manager Arteta.
However, the most moving image of all is one of him and Edu. The two Brazilians are pictured in an embrace, with Martinelli still sat while Edu wraps both arms around his countryman, both clearly delighted about the fact the 21-year-old has found a home in north London.

Odegaard's revenge
The Gunners skipper was left frustrated when Manchester United got one over on his side earlier this term, particularly as he was the reason Arsenal had a goal chalked off. Odegaard was deemed to have fouled Christian Eriksen in the build-up to what Martinelli thought was an opener, but the Denmark international fell to the ground in rather dramatic fashion and VAR intervened.
After the game, Eriksen's comments could have been interpreted as antagonising as he told Sky Sports he'd had a "lovely afternoon", whereas Odegaard was seething.
Fast forward to the recent meeting between the two teams and comments made by Arsenal's captain before the game have since come to light, and it just so happens that Odegaard had the last laugh, with the Gunners executing their game plan exactly, just as their skipper asked for.
