Arsenal news: Fabian Ruiz transfer proposal revealed as Mikel Arteta confirms injury doubt

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Saturday, March 5.

Fabian transfer proposal

According to journalist Raffaele Auriemma, via Sport Witness, Arsenal have made a proposal to Fabian Ruiz over a summer move.

However, the Napoli midfielder, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season, apparently does not want to move to the Gunners and would rather wait for an offer from Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.

Auriemma said: "I believe that Fabián Ruiz will leave Napoli at the end of the season.

"There’s been a proposal from Arsenal, but I understand that the player doesn’t want to join the Gunners. The midfielder is waiting for other offers, be they from Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid."

Arteta confirms Tomiyasu doubt

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that defender Takehiro Tomiyasu remains a doubt for Arsenal's trip to Watford on Sunday afternoon.

The Japan international has been struggling with two calf problems in recent weeks, with the defender injuring both of his calves in separate incidents.

Now, Arteta has revealed that the Gunners are likely to be without Tomiyasu this weekend as the north Londoners look to secure all three points against struggling Watford at Vicarage Road.

He said: "Same place as last week. We still have the doubt with Tomiyasu, the rest I think they’re all there."

Neves transfer talks

Barcelona are lining up a summer move for Wolves midfielder and reported Arsenal target Ruben Neves.

That's according to the Daily Mail, who claim that the La Liga giants have begun talks with intermediaries over a possible summer move for the 24-year-old central midfielder.

Manchester United are also said to be interested in Neves ahead of the summer transfer window, but they, as well as Arsenal, will now be on alert with Barcelona supposedly making their move.
