Auston Trusty's chances of a first USMNT call-up have received a blow with the defender set to miss the next two weeks due to injury.
Trusty, who is currently on loan at Birmingham City from Arsenal, missed Blues' 1-0 defeat to Luton Town at the weekend, with manager John Eustace confirming why after the match. “I think Auston will be a couple of weeks, unfortunately, for him.
"He has been outstanding. He has played 70 games in the calendar year. We were pushing him, as we were pushing Krystian, Dion [Sanderson], Troy [Deeney] through the barriers and, ultimately, something is going to break. But, hopefully, it won’t be too long for Trusty or Krystian.”

Trusty has been a key player for Birmingham since his temporary switch in the summer, playing every minute of every league game up until Saturday's clash with Luton. The 24-year-old was overlooked for a place in USA's World Cup squad at the end of 2022, but he has not let that disappointment affect his form since the resumption of the season.
And his consistency has thrust him into contention for a place in March's squad with matches against Grenada (March 24) and El Salvador (March 27) in the CONCACAF Nations League to come. According to The Athletic, USMNT assistant coach B.J Callaghan recently attended Blues' league defeat to Norwich City to scout Trusty ahead of the upcoming international break.
Interim manager Anthony Hudson will be naming his squad for next month's fixtures in the coming days and Trusty could face more disappointment if he is unable to recover from injury in time. He is still yet to make an appearance for the national team.
