Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea on Serge Gnabry red alert amid Bayern Munich transfer decision

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target Serge Gnabry has lifted the lid on what he wants from his next club after rejecting Bayern Munich's latest proposal for a new deal.

The 26-year-old now has just one year remaining on his deal at the Allianz Arena and while the Bundesliga champions remain eager to keep him, it now appears Gnabry will be on the move this summer. With Robert Lewandowski also set to leave, it looks set to be a big summer of change.

Last season saw Gnabry score 14 goals in 34 Bundesliga appearances as he claimed his fourth top-flight title. The forward came through the academy at Arsenal but was deemed not good enough for the Gunners, selling him to Werder Bremen for just £4million in 2016.

This week saw him join up with the German national team and face the press. Questions on his future - and that of Bayern Munich teammate Robert Lewandowski - were inevitable, with reports emerging that the former Gunner had turned down a contract extension with Bayern. In his press conference, he revealed that the reason for the rejection was not just about the money.

"In my view, it's a bit of a shame how things go back and forth - as a teammate, as part of the club," Gnabry said in response to questioning over his future at a Germany press conference. "That's why I hope that somehow a peaceful agreement will take place. It's not that each of us only thinks about money. There are other things that play a big role in making you feel good. Appreciation should come from both sides - from club to player and from player to club."

On Friday morning, it became clear that the player's time in Germany was all but over. Bild reported, via Ronan Murphy, that Gnabry had rejected Bayern's most recent contract offer and that the champions would not be offering a better deal.

It leaves the door open for both Chelsea and Arsenal to make their move. With the player speaking so candidly in his press conference, it is also obvious that respect will play a big part in deciding where he goes next.
