Thierry Henry has pointed out the clear mistake Joao Felix made in his chance for Chelsea against Real Madrid. The forward found himself with an opportunity to break the deadlock early on at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium but failed to make the most of the chance.
The Blues did well to counter Real in their first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. However, Felix was unable to capitalise on the opportunity and was forced wide by Eduardo Camavinga.
He did eventually get a shot away but it caused little problem for Thibaut Courtois. Chelsea came close again a minute later with another counter-attack but Eder Militao swept up the danger.
Chelsea went on to lose the game 2-0 thanks to goals either side of half-time from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio. The game was the fourth straight match without a goal for the West Londoners - a record number not seen since 1993.
And speaking on CBS Sports Golazo, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was able to offer an insight through the mind of a striker in Felix's position against Madrid. "You would like to think Joao Felix would have had the composure in the box. Don't get me wrong, I've been in that situation and it is not easy," Henry said.
"What was easy for me was to have the awareness that you need to cut across. That's the first thing that you learn as a centre forward. When defenders are chasing, I cut across. Slow or quick striker, it will give you that advantage of 1v1 or a red card. I've been in that situation, although I'd like to think I was composed in the box."
Henry continued: "You overthink it. I do believe that you always have time in the box, football-time. When you're not scoring, it feels like that time is really fast and you don't have that composure anymore."
