Jurgen Klopp says Kai Havertz will have a scan as Arsenal sweat on the striker’s fitness.
Havertz was forced off on the half hour mark during Germany’s Nations League draw with the Netherlands on Thursday evening.
The forward left the pitch with a suspected hamstring issue after being caught by a high challenge from Quinten Timber - brother of his Arsenal team-mate Jurrien - on the first half.
Havertz is due to undergo further assessment on Thursday night - along with Jamal Musiala - though Klopp does not expect to have the Gunners star available for selection against Greece at the weekend.
“Both will undergo scans tonight,” Klopp told reporters after the game.
“They're probably out for us, but I hope they'll be back soon (for their clubs).”
Havertz was always expected to return to Arsenal after the home meeting with Greece in Augsburg as he was due a rest while Klopp’s second group entertain Serbia in Munich on October 1 and then head to Thessaloniki to close out the window on October 4.
Arsenal will no doubt be hopeful that Havertz is not too serious, given he has struggled with a number of injury issues in the past and is a crucial player under Mikel Arteta as the first-choice striker.
Havertz has led the line impressively for the Gunners in the early stages of the new season, starting all five Premier League games so far and scoring three times in seven total appearances across all competitions.
After the international break, Arsenal host Leeds, Lille and Everton, with away trips to come against Nottingham Forest, Bayern Munich and Fleetwood.
