Arsenal interested in PSV star Cody Gakpo as transfer priority revealed

Arsenal are one of several Premier League clubs interested in PSV winger Cody Gakpo, football.london understands.

Gakpo is hugely admired by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta following a stellar 2021/22 campaign that saw the Dutch international net 21 goals and provide a further 15 assists in 47 outings and he is one name on the north London club's list of potential alternatives to Barcelona wideman Raphinha.

Raphinha had been heavily linked with a summer move to Arsenal, as well as Premier League rivals Chelsea, but the player eventually joined Catalan giants Barcelona instead. Whilst the Brazilian tends to operate on the right wing, the aforementioned Gakpo has typically been deployed on the left flank, although he has also operated on the right wing and as a centre-forward as well on occasion.
