Arsenal 'interested' in another Premier League winger after £21m Leandro Trossard transfer

Arsenal have agreed a fee of £21million plus add ons with fellow Premier League outfit Brighton for attacker Leandro Trossard, football.london understands.

The Belgian international will arrive in north London on a deal until 2027 with the option to extend by a further year. After missing out on Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk earlier in the January transfer window, with the talented wideman joining Lonson rivals Chelsea last weekend, the Gunners then turned their attention to Trossard earlier this week.

Arsenal are keen to have the 28-year-old available for Sunday's clash against Manchester United, although they face a race against time as the deal would have to be completed by midday today (Friday) if the player is to be named in the squad to face Erik ten Hag's side.

Now, The Daily Mail have reported that another winger has also caught the Gunners attention in recent times in the form of Crystal Palace starlet Michael Olise.

The report claims that Olise has caught the attention of the north London club, although any potential deal may be complicated by Wilfried Zaha's future at Selhurst Park. Zaha is into the final six months of his contract with the Eagles, who are unlikely to be prepared to lose both two key attacking talents in the same transfer window.

Olise netted a stunning injury-time freekick on Wednesday night to secure Palace a crucial point against United and head coach Patrick Vieira admitted that he is keen for the Frenchman to be more consistent with his output going forward. “Yeah, he needs to score more goals, he needs to make more assists", Vieira said when asked about the 21-year-old.

“I will want him to be more involved in our open play, I will want him to be better defensively to work with the rest of the players around, to help the team out of possession, so there’s still a lot of elements that he needs to work on to improve himself, but the quality is there.

“I think his talent is there and then now, it’s just about how high he wants to go and that will be dictated by his commitment in everyday training – the sacrifice that he is prepared to make to fulfil that potential.”
