Arsenal’s Gio Queiroz is quick on the wing but not quick enough for the Gunners faithful when it comes to potential kit leaks.
The women’s starlet posted a photo of herself on Tuesday evening to her Instagram story donning what is believed to be the new Arsenal home shirt alongside team-mate Beth Mead much to the delight of Arsenal fans around the world.
The apparent new design features sharp gold stripes on the shoulders and arms, with a darker red detailing down the body to give the shirt a sleeker edge to this season’s edition.
The response to Queiroz’s leak is conspicuously more positive than that of the leaked away kit, with a number of Twitter users voicing their unabashed approval of the apparent home design.
One Twitter user claimed “much better than this season's home kit imo” while another chimed in “these are super clean ngl”.
Yet, amongst the elation some of the kit detractors pointed out the irony of using gold on the shirt despite the dearth of a Premier League or WSL title this season, with one user writing: “Having gold on a kit without winning a trophy the previous season is ridiculous. They better win something big next season wearing it.”
Arsenal Women have defied odds by securing a European place for next season under manager Jonas Eidevall in a season marred by relentless injuries to key players, including Mead and fellow striker Vivianne Miedema leading into the Women’s World Cup this summer.
Despite the litany of injuries, the Gunners claimed the Conti Cup trophy over Chelsea and came within touching distance of the Women's Champions League final.
Arsenal return to action for the final time this season when they host Aston Villa on the final day of the season on Saturday.
