It may have slipped under the radar that Arsenal have generated an extra £2m from the sale of Bernd Leno.
The German goalkeeper, who had lost his status as the Gunners' first-choice option in between the sticks to Aaron Ramsdale last season, sealed a switch to London rivals and newly-promoted Fulham in the summer transfer window thus bringing an end to a four-year spell at the Emirates Stadium.
"Hey Arsenal fans, it's time to move on for me," he wrote on Twitter after the move was finalised. "It's been a pleasure to be part of this great football club for 4 amazing years. Thank you very much for your support. Also a big thank you to my teammates and the staff behind the team. I‘m looking forward to see you soon!"
