Arsenal transfer target Kaoru Mitoma has been compared to Gareth Bale after his impressive performance in Brighton's 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
Mitoma, 25, has enjoyed a sizzling breakthrough season at the AMEX Stadium. The winger has contributed to 17 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions for the Seagulls, attracting interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.
The Japanese international joined Brighton in 2021 from Kawasaki Frontale and spent last season in Belgium's Pro League with Union SG. Since returning to England, Mitoma has become one of Brighton's best players and is playing a key role in their push for European football.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Mitoma has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that the left winger is on Mikel Arteta's radar.
His performances this season for the Seagulls have had many clubs registering interest in his services ahead of the summer. And any suitors who watched his performance against Chelsea would have been more inclined to make a move at the end of the season.
Mitoma played the full 90 minutes as Brighton came from behind to beat Frank Lampard's men 2-1 and record their first-ever win at Stamford Bridge. After the game, the Japanese received a glowing reference from Tim Sherwood on Premier League Productions.
"Mitoma moves that ball like Gareth Bale," the former Tottenham boss said. "He dribbles that ball with pace and he knows what he is doing.
"He manipulates it very, very well. Ferguson has to score there and head that one down.”
