Arsenal are confident that they will be able to tie William Saliba down to a new contract despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
That is according to transfer guru Ben Jacobs, who has claimed that Saliba is settled with the north London club. The Sun reported last week that the Gunners had been shocked by the demands made by the French international's representatives, who were unwilling to agree to a long-term contract worth £120,000-per-week.
But Jacobs has now reported that despite PSG's interest in the 22-year-old being genuine, Arsenal remain confident that they can keep hold of the talented centre-back. "As I've said many times for a year, the PSG interest is very real", Jacobs told GiveMeSport.

"They've got one clear target, which is buy young and, where possible, buy French. But there remains high confidence, at Arsenal, that a deal will eventually get done because Saliba is settled at the club."
With one year left on his deal after Arsenal activated the one-year clause in his contract, there has yet to be a breakthrough in talks despite football.london understanding that the club remain confident Saliba will indeed renew. Speaking last month about the former Saint Etienne youngster's future at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta said: "Obviously Edu and the board are on top of every negotiation regarding new contracts and now we are doing everything we possibly can to do that in the right moment at the right time.
"The communication and the relationship is super. It is about timing, I think. Nothing else."
