Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has admitted that reported Arsenal transfer target Gianluca Scamacca could leave this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of centre-forwards in recent times, with the likes of Jonathan David of Lille and Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak mooted as potential replacements for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Barcelona during the January transfer window.
Technical director Edu had been chasing Dusan Vlahovic but as football.london revealed the player always favoured a move to a top Serie A side before eventually signing for Juventus.
Mikel Arteta and Co will be looking at alternatives ahead of the summer window and Sassuolo frontman Scamacca is another name that has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old is currently valued between €20million-€30million (£16.7million-£25million) by CIES Football Observatory and Carnevali has admitted that his star player is likely to leave the Italian top-flight if he does leave at the end of the current campaign.
Speaking to GR Parlamento, via GIFN, he said: "The offer is more likely to come from abroad.
"Today in Italy there are some economic difficulties: maybe there may be the will, the desire to take on a player, but then I think the most important offers can come from abroad.

"I hope he can stay in Italy, I’d like him to stay in our league. Just look at Locatelli – in the end, both us and the player decided to accept a proposal from Juventus that is slightly lower than the one that could have sent him to England."
Scamacca has enjoyed a productive 2021/22 season, notching 10 goals in 25 appearances for Sassuolo.
