Arsenal handed Gianluca Scamacca blow as Bologna sporting director sends Aaron Hickey warning

Things are starting to heat up with the transfer window now open. Plenty of moves have already been completed as negotiations continue over signings across the world.

For Arsenal, there are a number of high-profile players linked with a move to north London as Mikel Arteta continues the process of moulding the squad into one that fully represents his identity. The Spaniard's transfers worked out well last summer, and he'll be looking for similar success this time too.

Although the Gunners narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification, the former Manchester City assistant coach will be confident that his side will be ready to mount another top-four challenge with new additions who raise both the floor and ceiling of the squad. With that being said, here's a look at the latest rumours linking players to the Emirates.

Aaron Hickey

Marco Di Vaio, the sporting director of Italian club Bologna, has stated that Hickey could leave this summer but has warned clubs that inadequate offers will be deemed unacceptable.

Speaking to DAZN, he said: "Hickey may be one of the expendable names on the market, but in case of inadequate offers, he may stay with us for another year.

"We have a good potential to do well and earn more than 50 points. We must be good at financing new signings and finding new players. If we make the right moves, we'll be able to replace them and keep all the others."

Otavio

According to Record, via Sport Witness, many Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on Porto midfielder and winger Otavio and among the English clubs who are interested in the 27-year-old, the one that 'stands out' is Arsenal.

Otavio's release clause stands at £52 million, and it remains to be seen as to whether the Gunners will take their interests.
