Arsenal have been tipped to raid Manchester City once again in the summer transfer window with Ilkay Gundogan's future uncertain at the Etihad Stadium. The German midfielder's contract is set to expire at the end of June with City yet to reach an agreement over an extension.
The Gunners poached Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Pep Guardiola's squad - two signings which helped Mikel Arteta's side become Premier League title challengers. City complete a historic treble-winning season as they won 1-0 against Inter Milan in the Champions League final following their Premier League and FA Cup success this season.
Winning the treble may be the perfect send-off for Gundogan who has been linked with a switch to Barcelona and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. Now City's season is officially finished, it could also see the Gunners step up their efforts in trying to convince Gundogan to follow Jesus and Zinchenko to the Emirates Stadium.
The German midfielder scored crucial goals in the title run-in, as well as grabbing a double in the FA Cup final against Manchester United. Gundogan's exit would come as a huge blow for Guardiola - but City look set to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea in a £35 million deal, with the Croatian's arrival potentially being in preparation for Gundogan's departure.
The 32-year-old can clearly still play at the top level after scoring 11 goals and providing a further seven assists in 51 appearances for City as captain. Gundogan was spotted in tears following the full-time whistle in Istanbul as he celebrated with teammates and supporters - after what could have been his final appearance for Guardiola's side.
Arsenal have also been linked with a surprise move for City outcast Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese defender was loaned out to Bayern Munich in January following a fall-out with Guardiola over his game time.
