Arsenal fans slam Brighton defeat as Man City given huge Premier League title boost

Arsenal's Premier League title hopes have taken a huge blow following their 3-0 defeat against Brighton at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners sit four points behind Manchester City, having played a game more than Pep Guardiola's side.

Goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan secured the three points for Roberto De Zerbi's side. City could now secure their fifth Premier League title in six years with a win against Chelsea next weekend.

Gabriel Martinelli had to be replaced by Leandro Trossard inside the opening 20 minutes with the Brazilian suffering a suspected ankle injury. The 21-year-old was seen wearing a protective boot on his left foot at full-time and could now miss the final two fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Wolves.

The Emirates Stadium emptied rapidly following Undav's goal with few Arsenal fans staying to see Estupinan's strike to secure the win for the Seagulls. Gunners supporters have reacted to the defeat on social media with hopes of a first Premier League title win since 2004 now seemingly over.

@dboetan7i tweeted: "The end of Arsenal's title charge." @Just_Han_C agreed with the post, tweeting: "Final nail in Arsenals title hopes coffin. We go again next season."

Rivals fans were enjoying Arsenal's defeat as @M_borlarjoko tweeted: "Arsenal how are you conceding 3 goals at home in a title race??????"

@androidgd posted: "All you cheering Arsenal bottling the title right now are going to be complaining about City’s dominance in the summer. The PL is a one team league."

@OdianosenEtomi tweeted: "Arsenal’s title ambition is gone….. No traces."
