Arsenal fans are bracing themselves for yet another transfer saga involving Granit Xhaka and AS Roma.
It was just last summer when the midfielder looked destined to link up with former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho in Rome as personal terms between the player and the club had been agreed.
However, the sticking point was the Gunners' demands of €20m (£17m) for the Swiss international.
In the end, an agreement over the transfer fee couldn't be reached and Xhaka remains a key player for Mikel Arteta and that's despite his season being disrupted by a knee injury, a positive Covid-19 test, and two suspensions that have caused him to miss a total of 15 Arsenal games across all competitions.
Although, whilst the 29-year-old ended up signing a new deal in north London, but football.london has learned he is open to moving to Roma if a deal can be thrashed out this summer.
In fact, it's understood that Mourinho is a huge admirer of Xhaka and believes he will add a mental toughness to a side who will be hoping to challenge the big hitters in Serie A next season.
But will it be second time lucky for the Gilarossi in their attempts to finally reach an agreement with Arsenal in order to lure Xhaka to the Stadio Olimpico?
Well, amid reports in Italy revealing that Mourinho's summer transfer budget could be €100m (£84m), it has brought about some brilliant suggestions from some Gunners supporters that it should all be invested in Xhaka.
Below are some of the reactions on Reddit...

Of course, the aforementioned report does state that Xhaka is one of three targets Mourinho has in mind alongside Marcos Senesi and Filip Kostic, so other Arsenal fans have taken a more realistic approach regarding how negotiations will go with Roma.
