Surprisingly, Aaron Ramsdale will return to Arsenal training having not played a single minute on international duty with England. Ramsdale was an unused substitute for the Three Lions' games against Italy and Germany.
With an injury to Jordan Pickford keeping him out of the squad, many were expecting Ramsdale to deputise in his absence for these Nations League fixtures, but it was Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope who got the nod. Ramsdale warmed the benched and failed to add to the three England caps he has accumulated so far.
If fit, Pickford is very likely to start in Qatar, but it appears Pope has the edge on Ramsdale for the first choice back-up. The Gunners stopper has been impressive for Arsenal over a 12-month period, although the clashes against Italy and Germany suggests he is third in the pecking order.

However, Pope made a costly mistake in the 3-3 draw against Germany on Monday evening, spilling a long shot into the path of Kai Havertz to grab a late equaliser. Arsenal supporters were all saying the same thing about Ramsdale after Pope's error.
@afcmax22: This is what you get for starting Nick Pope over Ramsdale.
@AFC_GLEN: Ramsdale controls that with his feet and sends a 50 yard pass out wide.
@always_a_gooner: That's why Ramsdale should be playing.
@rek_AFC: Hahahahaha Pope. How many more signs does Southgate need? Ramsdale is your number 1.
@StanEldon: Ramsdale should be in net...
@EJPSarriesAFC: If we want to play out from the back why pick Pope instead of Ramsdale?
@AFC_Gunner26: Ramsdale doesn't spill that. Just saying...
@Ethan_afc: This is what happens when you don't play Ramsdale.
