Arsenal could face a battle from rivals Manchester United if they decide to revive their interest in Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer. The Belgian is set to become a free agent in the summer, with his contract expiring at the end of the current season.
football.london understands that interest from Arsenal in Tielemans has cooled, but it remains to be seen whether that could reignite this summer when he becomes available on a free transfer. The addition of the midfield would give the side more options on the left, having struggled for depth beyond Granit Xhaka in that area.
Tielemans has already hinted at what would win him over in a potential battle between two clubs, saying back in June to RTBF: "When you change clubs, you don’t change just to change. You change because there is a great project on the table. For a player, the most important thing is to play. It’ll be up to me to make the right decision regarding my future this summer, but now, I’m relaxed and focusing on the Red Devils [Belgian national team]."

The Gunners may have a good project on the table, especially if they continue their good form in the league, though United may offer similar aspirations after their rise to the top under Erik ten Hag. The Dutch boss sent the transfer rumour mill into overdrive on Sunday after a touchline moment with Tielemans.
The 25-year-old was a substitute for the clash but as he came on in the second half, the United manager patted the midfielder on the back as he was brought on. Many fans on social media connected the dots, believing that it meant a move to Old Trafford is on the horizon.
It remains to be seen whether either side will make a move for Tielemans in the coming months, but the possibility of a free transfer could make an interesting battle for Manchester United and Arsenal.
