Arsenal eye surprise move for Manchester United flop as Edu handed £100m transfer blow

Despite sufffering a setback in their 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Monday night, Arsenal are pushing for Champions League qualification this season. But concerns around squad depth have seen optimism around the possibility take a knock.

The Gunners currently occupy fifth position in the Premier League, as north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur sit in fourth on goal difference. Mikel Arteta's side do have a game in hand on the Lilywhites, but they'll need to get back to winning ways against Brighton this weekend.

Regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League, however, Arsenal will be looking to strengthen in the summer, primarily in the central forward and midfield areas. With that in mind, football.london has rounded-up some of the latest transfer rumours surrounding the club.

It is detailed that Newcastle United lodged a bid in the January window but Napoli would be requiring far more than their original offer.

OGC Nice star Amine Gouiri has sparkled in Ligue 1 this season having notched 17 goal involvements. According to CalcioMercato, the Gunners are the latest to declare an interest, whilst AC Milan and Sevilla are also tracking him.

Ronald Araujo

As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the defender's agent said: “The agreement to extend the contract is now really close. We’ve very good feelings - just final details are missing, it could be matter of days.”
