Arsenal have held a significant amount of interest in a number of top-class midfielders throughout 2022 as Mikel Arteta hopes to provide some necessary cover for Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey. Youri Tielemans and Danilo are the duo at the top of the list of possible acquisitions in the coming transfer windows.
Danilo, who plays his domestic football in Brazil with Palmeiras, has dropped a major transfer hint in the past few days after he suggested he is 'ready' for any competition. While football.london reported in the summer that Arsenal will wait for Tielemans' Leicester contract to expire and sign him on a free transfer in June 2023.
Aston Villa received an approach late in the window for their midfielder Douglas Luiz after injuries to Partey and Mohamed Elneny saw the Gunners panic to bring in another central midfielder for the 2022/23 season.

Three bids on deadline day were rejected by Villa with Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Arsenal were also interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes.
However, the Argentine midfielder opted to join Juventus on-loan with an option to buy, but his time in Italy appears to be nearing an end after making just three starting appearances under Massimiliano Allegri.
Nicolo Fagioli and Fabio Miretti, who have both come through the Italian clubs academy, are seemingly above Paredes in the pecking order and with PSG unlikely to offer him a consistent place in their starting XI, the Gunners could strike a bargain deal with the French club.
Despite Tielemans still being the main midfield transfer target, more recent reports have suggested the Belgian could remain at the King Power Stadium while also being a transfer target for European champions Real Madrid if they fail in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham.
Arsenal could certainly spring into action and reignite their interest in Paredes, who has a contract with the French club until the summer of 2024, with PSG possibly seeking to cash in on the midfielder if he does return from Juventus.
Despite his lack of domestic action, Paredesis at the 2022 World Cup with Argentina and played 59 minutes in their shock World Cup opening game defeat to Saudi Arabia. His performances at the World Cup could prove pivotal if PSG want to let him go as any good displays would see his potential price tag likely increase.
While Arsenal may look to go on a World Cup scouting mission of their own if Paredes shows the midfield capabilities Mikel Arteta is looking for with a possible bargain deal available in January.
