Arsenal director Josh Kroenke has shown faith in another young manager as Calvin Booth of the Denver Nuggets has been signed to a multiyear extension. The decision suggests that Kroenke believes in another long-term project, albeit away from football.
Booth, 46, took over the front office after the departure of Tim Connelly, who left to join the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer. Booth, who has been with the Nuggets since 2017, was promoted to general manager in 2020 and has made significant strides since.
"Calvin has been a huge part of what we've done here over the last five seasons and I have the utmost confidence in him as our General Manager," said Kroenke in a statement, as cited by ESPN. "Cal has seen the game from every angle and has an extremely bright basketball mind. I look forward to continuing alongside Calvin and the rest of the organization with the goal of bringing an NBA championship to the city of Denver."

Booth has seen success over the past couple of years and he'll be hoping that the Nuggets can compete for an NBA Championship this season. After two-time MVP Nikola Jokic was signed to the largest contract in NBA history, a championship in the near future is attainable.
Importantly, from an Arsenal perspective, it suggests the Gunners' ownership group are willing to trust individuals if they truly believe they can carry a franchise forward. Edu and Mikel Arteta's project at the Emirates is well underway and there's now clear signs that Kroenke made the right choice in sticking with them both.
Arsenal's American owners handed Arteta a new deal prior to the end of last season and the Gunners now top the Premier League this campaign. There's still a long way to go and the project is far from complete, but trust is being repaid. Supporters will be hoping that silverware is to follow.
