Arsenal 'deserve it': Sky Sports pundit makes Premier League title prediction after Man City win

Jamie Redknapp has predicted Arsenal to win the Premier League title, despite Manchester City cranking up the pressure.

Goals from Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush and Savinho clinched a 3-0 win for Man City over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night and cut the gap at the top of the table to two points.

Both sides have two Premier League games remaining and Redknapp believes while the fixture list favours the Gunners, they “deserve” to be in this position.

“They’ve got Burnley at home on the Monday night football, the atmosphere is going to be red hot,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.

“I think they’ve got the players, the capability of playing against a side that has already been relegated.

“Then you’re playing Crystal Palace, who have a cup final, a big European cup final a few days after the last game of the season.

“They deserve this, they deserve to get to this point and they’ve had to work so hard and you can only imagine the emotions.

“They are relentless, City, they keep you honest and they have done that so well, but I just feel right now - after Sunday and being at that game [West Ham vs Arsenal] I just think this is Arsenal’s.”

Victory for Man City means Arsenal cannot be crowned Premier League champions with a win over Burnley on Monday night.

The Gunners, however, could get their crowning moments 24 hours later if they beat the Clarets and then Man City fail to claim all three points against Champions League-chasing Bournemouth.

If City do win at the Vitality Stadium then the title race will be decided on the final day of the season with Pep Guardiola’s side hosting Aston Villa, who may have already guaranteed Champions League football one way or another before making the trip to the Etihad Stadium.
