Arsenal defender signs for Marseille with Pablo Mari set to join Udinese in loan deal

Sead Kolasinac has left Arsenal, with Pablo Mari expected to follow suit in the coming days, football.london understands.

Marseille

the signing of Kolasinac on Tuesday afternoon after he passed his medical at the club's training facilities.

The 28-year-old made just two Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season and is considered third choice left-back behind Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international joined Arsenal in June 2017 and was close to moving to Turkish side Fenerbahce last summer but he will now aim to help Marseille - currently in third place in Ligue 1 - to secure Champions League football for next season.

Meanwhile, Mari will complete a straight loan deal to Udinese as he looks to increase his playing time.

The Spaniard has made just 14 appearances in two years at the Emirates Stadium since joining from Brazilian side Flamengo.

Mari, 28, who has a contract with the Gunners until 2024, remains unlikely to force his way back into the Arsenal first team picture.

He was Arteta's first Arsenal signing when he became Arsenal manager but has only played two Premier League games this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool is set to go ahead on Thursday as things stand.

The Gunners saw their application to postpone Sunday's north London derby against Tottenham accepted due to having various absences in the first team squad.

However, football.london understands that Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe are in contention for the game at Emirates Stadium.
