Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio, if recent reports are to be believed.
The Gunners are set for yet another busy summer transfer window just 12 months after splashing in excess of £140million on six-first team additions last year. Despite Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny signing a new contract at the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta's side are still short of options in the middle of the park and Leicester City's Youri Tielemans is one candidate on the club's shortlist, football.london understands.
Another name that has been linked in recent times is Spanish international Asensio, who has just over one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu Stadium. football.london reported back in April that the north Londoners have a good relationship with Los Blancos after the deals involving Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos and Arteta is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old, making enquiries to sign his compatriot in previous transfer windows.
