Arsenal confirm Ben White injury as Rob Holding comes in to start vs West Ham

Arsenal have confirmed that centre-back Ben White has a hamstring injury ahead of West Ham clash.

The Gunners are in desperate need of a win as they continue their quest to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. However, they will be without White for the trip to east London, confirming that the England international is currently suffering with a hamstring problem.

A club statement on their Twitter account read: "Ben White misses out on today's matchday squad with a tight hamstring." Fellow Englishman Rob Holding has taken White's place in Mikel Arteta's starting XI.

The former Brighton star has enjoyed a solid debut campaign at the Emirates, impressing former boss Graham Potter in the process. Now, Potter has praised both player and club for helping White to develop. Speaking about White last month Potter said: "He has certainly made progress and congratulations to him, Mikel [Arteta], and the staff at Arsenal, he's taken a step.

"When we made the sale we thought that would happen because he's a good age, a good person, good player, good qualities. I think Arsenal deserve credit, they identified him, they paid the fee and they recognised what it was they wanted and they have used it well.

[He] got off to a shaky start, I think in the first game of the season in a defeat to Brentford but from then he has grown and grown. You can see his quality and what he brings to the team." The 24-year-old has registered 13 clean sheets in 31 Premier League appearances this term.
