Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham set for transfer 'bidding war' with £43m defender up for grabs

The chase for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer is hotting up, and key meetings have reportedly been set up with potential suitors, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

All three clubs are set for busy transfer windows this summer. Arsenal have already secured the services of Marquinhos, Matt Turner and Fabio Vieira, while Gabriel Jesus is also close to completing a move to the Emirates. Elsewhere in north London, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster have joined Antonio Conte at Tottenham, and while Chelsea are yet to seal any deals, plenty of money is set to be splashed under the new leadership at Stamford Bridge.

Bremer has emerged as one of Europe's hottest defensive talents after an impressive season in the Torino backline. The 25-year-old was named the best defender in Serie A for the 2021-22 campaign and, despite extending his contract in February, looks set for a move this summer.

A fresh report from 90Min has revealed that crunch meetings are set to be held with Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs imminently, with the director of football, Davide Vagnati, flying to London. A £43 million price-tag has been slapped on the defender for the time being.

The report from 90Min states: "Il Toro are hoping to sell Bremer for €50m while his stock is high, and 90min understands that club president Urbano Cairo has dispatched Vagnati to England in the hope of inciting a bidding war."

He is not the only centre-back on the clubs' radar, however. Mikel Arteta is currently chasing Ajax ace, Lisandro Martinez, while Alessandro Bastoni and Clement Lenglet have been linked with Spurs. Chelsea are arguably most in need of defensive reinforcements, with Matthijs De Ligt Jules Kounde targeted.

Bremer is Brazilian by birth but is hoping to represent Italy on the international stage, despite the Azzurri failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
