Arsenal can sign their own Jude Bellingham for cut-price transfer this summer

Arsenal's summer transfer window has got off to a busy start, with technical director Edu already signing four first-team players.

American shot-stopper Matt Turner has been brought in to challenge no.1 Aaron Ramsdale whilst Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira and talented young winger Marquinhos have added some depth to Mikel Arteta's squad, with frontman Gabriel Jesus the big-name capture of the Gunners ' window so far.

However, the north London outfit are still very much active in the market and 90min have now reported that they are interested in Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka. Chukwuemeka will likely be available for a cut-price deal this summer considering he has less than 12 months left on his contract at Villa Park.

Arsenal, along with the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle United and Manchester United are said to be interested in the talented 18-year-old, who is seen by Borussia Dortmund as the next Jude Bellingham, according to The Daily Mail. The talented teenager has enjoyed an extremely productive summer, scoring one goal in the Under-19 European Championship final as England defeated Israel to win the tournament.

His sky-high potential hasn't gone unnoticed either, with Gunners hero Paul Merson making it no secret of his admiration for the player. “You look at the positives, the young kid, Chukwuemeka was very good," Merson said on Sky Sports earlier this year.

“He has got a bright future. I don’t see a lot of the kid’s football. First-half, he was outstanding. He was gliding across the pitch. 17 years old, you are playing in the Premier League in the centre of midfield. I mean that’s a big ask.

“He will be an absolute star. He glides across the pitch. He is a nice size. He gets on the ball. He looks for it and makes runs without the ball. I think Villa fans going away will definitely be talking about him.”
