A lot has been said about Arsenal's hunt for a striker this summer, and while some of the names being linked are encouraging, there's also an opportunity to add a top-quality winger that will complete a new look frontline. With Nicolas Pepe's future up in the air, it's believed Mikel Arteta could be on the lookout for a new wide-man who offers as much threat in front of goal as they do on the flanks.
PSV Eindhoven's Cody Gakpo and Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus are notable examples of players who can comfortably operate on the wing or as centre forwards, which seems to be one of the reasons behind their links to the Gunners. Arteta loves to have players who possess versatility, individuals that can adapt to different areas from their main position.
Arsenal have already lost guaranteed goals in the squad following the exit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, so the expected departures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah only reiterate the need for added firepower ahead of next season. The aforementioned Gakpo and Jesus along with AS Roma's Tammy Abraham are among those to have been shortlisted by technical director Edu, football.london understands.

However, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka have proven to be key whenever goals dry up for the centre-forward. The Hale End duo are currently the club's top two goalscorers this season, with 11 and 12 to their names respectively. It highlights the importance of having various goal sources within the team and it's something that must be maintained.
Although Gakpo's goal tally as a winger this season is impressive, finding the back of the net 16 times in 39 appearances, it doesn't quite match that of Feyenoord's Luis Sinisterra. The Colombian international has scored 23 goals in just five more appearances out wide and considering Gakpo has also played centrally, that's not bad going at all.
That number is something you would expect from a natural striker, but Sinisterra has racked it up while only operating on the left-hand side of the frontline. According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal have made a proposal to the 22-year-old, who most recently scored one and provided an assist as his side beat William Saliba's Marseille in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.
The report also states that Sinisterra is valued at around €15m (£12.6m) and will be sold this summer, with a host of sides including Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen also showing interest. Bearing in mind the player has continued his fine form since the story was published, I would expect that figure has risen a fair bit.
Nonetheless, he would represent an incredibly exciting addition that could match Liverpool's Luis Diaz transfer in January. Sinisterra's fellow countryman also plays on the left flank and tends to cut in on his right foot to shoot or deliver a dangerous cross, both players also possess explosive pace and tricky footwork which leaves defenders dazed.
