Manchester United are reportedly set to rival Arsenal in the chase for England international Tammy Abraham ahead of the January transfer window.
Having enjoyed a terrific Premier League season under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners are expected to be active in bolstering the Spaniard's squad this winter. Reinforcements are, particularly, expected in attack following an injury to star striker Gabriel Jesus at the World Cup in Qatar.
Whilst Arsenal did not appear short of firepower upon their Boxing Day return to action against West Ham as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah all netted, one name that has previously been linked to the Emirates Stadium is former Chelsea striker Abraham.

After graduating from the club's Cobham academy to become a Champions League winner with the Blues, the 25-year-old ended his 15-year stay at Stamford Bridge last year by joining former Blues boss Jose Mourinho at AS Roma.
The forward has registered 38 goal involvements from 73 appearances across all competitions, becoming an important player for Mourinho. Subsequently, it is little surprise that rumours of a return to England remain prominent.
TEAMTalk now claim that after missing out on the signing of Dutch sensation Cody Gakpo to Liverpool, United are preparing to make a move of their own for Abraham either in January or the summer of 2023. Boss Erik ten Hag has previously admitted his side are in the market for a striker following Cristiano Ronaldo's high-profile departure from Old Trafford.
Reports that Roma may be willing to accept a cut-price deal for Abraham could strengthen the Red Devils' stance further. Though, as a self-confessed Arsenal supporter, suggest the player might just prefer a move to North London.
"I love coming to the Emirates," he said to Chelsea TV last summer after a friendly in north London. "Even if it’s only a friendly, I always love scoring goals. Luckily it was the winner again."
Speaking about his childhood to Eurosport in 2017, he told: "To be honest I was an Arsenal fan. When you’re young and you choose who to support, if it’s a family thing, it’s a family thing.
