Mikel Arteta and Edu are running out of time to bolster the Arsenal squad before the January transfer window closes.
The pair have until 11:59pm on Monday 31st to announce any new additions, whilst there could also be more outgoings confirmed following Calum Chambers' surprise transfer to Aston Villa.
One deal that has been agreed by Arsenal is that of New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner.
football.london understands that two clubs have reached an agreement on an initial £4.5million fee rising to £7.5million with further bonuses, and the 27-year-old will officially complete his move in the summer transfer window as Bernd Leno's replacement.
But what about the here and now?
What is for certain is that Arteta and Edu have made space for at least one or two arrivals before the window closes having allowed as many as 10 players to depart either on loan or permanently this month.
This includes the aforementioned Chambers along with the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Pablo Mari, Folarin Balogun, Sead Kolasinac and highly-rated Under-23's goalkeeper Karl Hein.
In terms of potential incomings, a striker is a priority for Arsenal and links with a midfielder refuse to go away.
From Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Arthur Melo and Douglas Luiz, many names have been tipped to join the north London outfit, but whether they actually join remains to be seen.
As it's the winter break and no game to look forward to for a couple of weeks, football.london's Arsenal Writer Kaya Kaynak gave his thoughts on some of the big talking points at the Emirates Stadium right now during a Q&A with fans on Thursday.
Unsurprisingly, he was asked questions on the club's plans for the remainder of the transfer window.
Here is what he had to say about what is going on behind the scenes in north London.
What input do the 'Arsenal hierarchy' have on transfer dealings?
Kaya Kaynak said: "Edu is responsible for dealing with other clubs and going out to secure deals for the players that Mikel Arteta has targeted.
"He receives help with this from Richard Garlick.
"However, when it comes to actually getting the moves over the line, everything has to be signed off by the board, which contains the Kroenkes, Tim Lewis and Lord Harris of Peckham.
"As we know they are relatively hands off when it comes to transfers and the day-to-day running of the club, so it's possible they would not have been involved in the build up."
Will Arsenal be making any moves for either of Neves or Douglas Luiz this month?
Kaya Kaynak said: "Arteta said that they're only looking to bring in players who "raise the level", and if those guys aren't available then unfortunately it will remain a quiet window at the Emirates Stadium.
"The same goes for the midfield positions."
Will Arsenal sign a striker this month?
Kaya Kaynak said: "Arsenal are actively trying to address their striker issues, with the club now wanting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out, and Dusan Vlahovic likely to go to Juve.
"However, they're not willing to sacrifice the long-term aims of the projects for short-term success this season."
Any news on Wijnaldum?
Kaya Kaynak said: "I've not ever heard anything concrete this month the Wijnaldum interest, unfortunately.
"While I won't discredit where other people have got their information from, it does appear to be one that always looked quite unlikely given his age and wage demands.
"That said as Arsenal get more and more desperate towards the finals hours of the window, they could well be inclined to bow to those demands!"
