Renee Slegers has signed a new long-term contract as Arsenal head coach.
The 36-year-old's deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but Slegers has now signed a contract that commits her future through to the summer of 2029.
Slegers initially took charge of Arsenal on an interim basis in October 2024 to replace Jonas Eidevall, before getting the job permanently in January last year after leading the club to an 11-match unbeaten run.
She then masterminded the club's stunning Champions League success last season, beating Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and OL Lyonnes before seeing off Barcelona in the final in Lisbon.
“From playing in the academy and being in the stands watching Arsenal win the Champions League in 2007, to living it with our players, staff and supporters last summer, I’m immensely proud to have shared this journey with Arsenal, a club that means so much to me and to so many people,” Slegers said.
“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract here, as I believe we have so much to achieve together – this season and in the years to come.
"I’d like to show my gratitude to our supporters for the incredible backing you give us, whether it’s at Emirates Stadium, Meadow Park or on the road. We hear it, we see it and we feel it every day.”

Arsenal finished second in the Women's Super League last season but it has been more of a struggle this term.
Points have been dropped in five of the 11 WSL matches so far, leaving Arsenal in third and nine points off the pace set by Manchester City.
However, Arsenal have backed Slegers to get the club once again lifting major silverware.
“We’re delighted Renee has signed a new long-term contract with us," Clare Wheatley, director of women's football, said.
"Since taking over, first on an interim basis and then as our permanent head coach, Renee has proved to be an elite coach with the capabilities to lead us as we continue to challenge to win major trophies.
"Together with our supporters, we look forward to continuing our successful journey with Renee in the years to come.”
Arsenal have also appointed Jodie Taylor as women's technical director.
Taylor had two spells at the club as a player. She retired in 2023 and shortly after returned to Arsenal to take on the role of technical services manager.
“I’m immensely proud to step into the role of technical director,” Taylor said.
“It’s ten years since I first joined Arsenal as a player, and the progress and growth of the club since that time has been remarkable.
"Building on the strong foundations already in place, we want to nurture a high-performance environment where our players, Renee and wider staff have the right tools and the best possible environment to deliver at the highest level.”
