Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United pay tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton after passing

Arsenal and Chelsea lead the tributes to Sir Bobby Charlton at half-time of their Premier League game after the England and Manchester United legend died on Saturday.

Charlton's death was announced at 4pm on Saturday, with Arsenal and Chelsea the next League game to kick-off 90 minutes later.

Due to both clubs already paying tribute to the innocent victims of the crisis in Israel and Gaza before kick-off, a tribute to Charlton was held at half-time at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United were in action after that when they travel to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United at 8pm and they will paid tribute to Charlton then.

The team wore black armbands and the pre-planned minute’s silence was expanded to pay respect to Charlton.

A wreath was laid at the Trinity Statue at Old Trafford on behalf of the club as fans also begin to lay floral tributes at the stadium.

A book of condolence was open to fans and the public on Sunday from 10am in the International Suite at Old Trafford.

Discussions are taking place regarding commemorative plans ahead of United’s Champions League tie against Copenhagen at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Further tributes are expected to take place at Sunday and Monday’s Premier League games as well as next weekend.

The Football Association will pay full tribute to Charlton at Wembley Stadium when England play Malta on Friday, November 17.
