Arsenal and Chelsea sent Nico Williams transfer message after Benjamin Sesko decision

Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Nico Williams has vowed to resolve his future after this summer’s European Championship.

The winger is attracting interest from both London rivals following a string of impressive performances for Athletic Club this season.

The 21-year-old - previously linked with the likes of Liverpool and Aston Villa - is available for around £43million due to a release clause in the new contract he signed at San Mames back in December.

Williams, however, has parked all talk around his future until after he has finished playing for Spain at Euro 2024.

“I am very happy at Athletic,” he told Spanish radio station Cope. “It is the club that has given me everything, it is the club that has bet on me 100 per cent. I am very happy in Bilbao and that is what I have to say.

“I have it quite clear. Athletic is my home, I am very happy and what I want to do is focus on the Euros, which is very important because if you are not 100 per cent in a competition like this, it will pass you by and the rest, I do not know what is going to happen.

“I have told my representatives that I do not want to know anything until the Euros is over. I am 100 per cent focused and my desire is to win the Euros.”

Williams’ performances have also caught the eye of Barcelona and at one stage they had hoped to sign him for nothing this summer.

The winger was due to be a free agent at the end of the season, but he showed loyalty to Athletic by signing a new contract before the turn of the year.

“I was comfortable in Bilbao,” Williams added. “I knew I wanted to continue, both parties decided to stay together. I was very happy, I decided to renew and little else.”
