Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe and Chelsea duo Conor Gallagher and Reece James are part of an all-English field nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year.
Manchester City’s Phil Foden is also on the six-man shortlist for the award, with Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey completing the line-up.
The players themselves vote for the award, with those going for the Young Player of the Year having to be 21 or under as of July 1 immediately preceding the start of the season.
Saka and Smith Rowe’s nominations come after fine seasons for Arsenal in which they helped the Gunners finish fifth in the Premier League.
Smith Rowe’s form saw him earn a senior England debut, while Saka finished the season as Arsenal’s top scorer in all competitions.
There is a strong London contingent among the nominees, with Gallagher recognised for a fine season on loan at Crystal Palace.
Like Smith Rowe, the midfielder’s form earned him a senior England debut and he was voted the Eagles’ Supporters’ Player of the Year.
Gallagher’s parent club, Chelsea, also have another player nominated for the award after James’ excellent season.
The wing-back finished the campaign with 10 assists in all competitions and only Mason Mount bettered that tally for the Blues.
Foden is unsurprisingly nominated too after another fine campaign for Manchester City, which he finished with 14 goals and 11 assists.
Last but by no means least is Ramsey, who has burst onto the scene with Aston Villa. The 21-year-old scored six goals for the Steven Gerrard’s side, making him the club’s third top scorer.
The PFA Awards will take place on June 9 at 7pm and will be broadcast on the PFA’s social channels
