Arsenal already have their own Erling Haaland and Luis Suarez to fix transfer problem

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli is expected to become one of the best players in the world according to his potential rating on FIFA 22. After a standout performance in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, where Martinelli was awarded player of the match in football.london's player ratings, many pundits and fans have tipped the Brazilian to become one of the best in world football.

Previously, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has described Martinelli as "the talent of the century", showing just how highly-rated he is. Still only 20 years old, Martinelli has grabbed five goals and three assists in the Premier League this season, despite only breaking into the starting XI around December.

His performances have already warranted him an upgrade on FIFA 22, but his incredibly high potential rating is what draws attention to the Brazilian. If Martinelli was to reach the level expected of him, his rating would be higher than the current rating of Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and the same as Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland. Let's take a look at Martinelli's potential rating on FIFA 22 and how he compares to other players around the world.

On FIFA 22, Martinelli has a potential rating of 88 out of 99, 11 ratings higher than his current rating. After his impressive start to the season, the 20-year-old already received a +1 upgrade to his overall rating after starting the game at 76 overall.

Compared to his fellow teammates, only Martin Odegaard has a higher potential rating than Martinelli. The Norwegian midfielder has a potential of 89 overall, whilst Bukayo Saka also has a potential rating of 88 overall.

Emile Smith-Rowe, Gabriel and Kieran Tierney all have a potential of 87 overall, whilst defensive duo Benjamin White and Aaron Ramsdale's potential both sit at 86. We all know that Martinelli can become one of the best at Arsenal, but how does his potential compare to the rest of the Premier League?

If Martinelli was to hit his potential rating of 88, that would make him higher rated than Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku, Man City's Raheem Sterling and Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes. When compared to the potential ratings of other players in the league, only a couple of other youngsters are tipped to become better.

According to FIFA, only Phil Foden (92 potential), Kai Havertz (91 potential), Trent Alexander-Arnold (90 potential) Mason Mount, Diogo Jota and Jadon Sancho (89 potential) could become better than Martinelli in the future. With Martinelli currently rated 77 overall, it shows how highly he is rated, with Mason Mount (83 overall) being the lowest-rated out of other players with the best potential.

Compared to other players around the world, FIFA 22 predicts that Martinelli could reach the level of Haaland (88 overall), who is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in world football. His potential rating would also be higher than the current rating of Luis Suarez (87), Paulo Dybala (87), Thomas Muller (87) and Luka Modric (87).
