Arrest after burglary at student accommodation block

An arrest has been made following reports of a burglary in student accommodation six months ago. On January 14th this year, officers received a report of a burglary in Cambridge Street, Manchester.

Officers from the City of Manchester Central Neighbourhood Crime Team conducted an investigation and followed several lines of enquiry leading up to the arrest. A man in his 30s has now been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald, from GMP's City of Manchester district, said: "Burglaries are crimes that leave people feeling unsafe in their own home, and I hope this arrest shows that we will investigate and we will take action."

Anyone with information regarding recent burglaries are encouraged to contact GMP using the live chat function at www.gmp.police.uk. Alternatively you can report any information anonymously via the independent charity - Crimestoppers – on 0800 555 111.
