While appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan announced the team is working on an extension for quarterback Mitch Trubisky. This comes in the same week as the team deciding to bring back Mason Rudolph for a sixth season with the team. That deal is now done.
With Kenny Pickett set to remain the starter it is clear the Cleveland Browns’ rivals in Pittsburgh want established veterans to back him up. Trubisky struggled last season and could not keep Pickett from taking the starting job for long. However he has shown that in the right situation he can give you quality starts and tread water if Pickett goes down. Trubisky is getting a two-year extension on top of his current year for a contract worth up to $33 million.
