Arnold Palmer's oldest daughter has addressed former President Donald Trump's comments regarding her father's penis, referring to them as "unfortunate".

On Saturday, the former President made a comment about the golf player's manhood during remarks at a rally at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

"This is a guy that was all man," Trump said as he began his speech. "He took showers with the other pros, they came out of there, they said, 'Oh my God, that's unbelievable.' I had to say it."

68-year-old Peggy Palmer on Sunday referred to Trump's comments as "an unfortunate way to remember my dad," according to The Independent.

"My father was very modest," Peggy continued. "We've lost our sense of outrage in this country over just about everything, and I'm not sure that's OK... There are other things about my dad that would be better to focus on."

Trump, who acknowledged having shared the anecdote of the athlete during a previous visit to Latrobe, stated that he had never shared it in as much detail. Still, Palmer's daughter revealed she actually was "not really upset" by his remarks.

"I think it was a poor choice of approaches to remembering my father, but what are you going to do?" she told AP News.

Palmer would have seen Trump as "cringe" said Peggy in a 2018 interview with The Sporting News, noting that Trump's campaign leading up to the 2016 presidential election shocked her father.

"My dad didn't like people who act like they're better than other people," she said. "He didn't like it when people were nasty and rude. He didn't like it when someone was disrespectful to someone else. My dad had no patience for people who demean other people in public. He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat."

"My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump's lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump's lack of character," she continued.
