Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has responded to reports linking him to the vacant Tottenham manager job that will likely give optimism to the Spurs fan base. Slot appears to be the firm favourite to take permanent charge in north London after Julian Nagelsmann was ruled out of the running.
The former Bayern Munich boss looked to be the frontrunner after ruling himself out of taking the Chelsea job. Instead, football.london understands that a deal is in place to make ex-Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino the next Blues manager.
Alongside appointing a manager, a director of football must also be instilled with the latter expected to happen before any final decision is made on Antonio Conte's successor.

Tottenham are understood to have brought their search down to three names with Roma's Tiago Pinto joined by ex-Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Tim Steidten. football.london understands there is also another unnamed leading candidate for the position.
After guiding Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title, Slot is understandably held in a high esteem by those at Spurs and his actions regarding the reports linking him with Spurs could be telling.
As relayed by twitter user @KuipTalk, Slot refused to comment on his future in the Netherlands but did go on to drop a major location hint for his next position. "If my next step is in the Netherlands, I completely failed in the next few years."
