Feyenoord boss Arne Slot continues to be linked with the vacant Tottenham Hotspur managerial position.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy opted to sack Antonio Conte back in March, with interim successor Cristian Stellini also relieved of his duties just a few weeks later. Now, Slot appears to be leading the race to become the next Lilywhites head coach following a hugely impressive 2022/23 campaign that has seen him guide Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title.
Levy is waiting for appointment of a new director before hiring Slot, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. "Daniel Levy is still looking for a new director and then he will go for a new manager but internal conversations are taking place for Arne Slot, Feyenoord manager," Romano recently told his YouTube channel.

"He is really appreciated internally at Tottenham and is a concrete chance for the job. With Arne Slot there will be direct conversations with Feyenoord this week to understand the potential conditions compensation needed for him to go to the Premier League.
"Let's keep the names of Luis Enrique, Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim in the list. Sources close to these managers feel that Slot is the big favourite. Lets wait for the new director and for Levy to make a new decision over the new manager."
Slot seems like the perfect candidate to turn around Tottenham's fortunes when you take a deeper dive into the Dutchman's tactical approach. The Dutchman's principles draw a number of similarities to former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa due to his high-press energetic setup, looking for regular turnovers high up the pitch, effectively creating chances through his side's defensive structure.
Unlike some legendary Dutch managers, Slot places a large emphasis on quick vertical passing during the build-up phase, attempting to turn defence into attack quicker than most coaches. This of course comes at a high risk of giving the ball away in your own defensive third, with this riskier vertical approach often coming at a cost of extra goals conceded for a coach like Bielsa.
However, Slot obviously drilled his team extremely well this season when you consider that Feyenoord haven't committed a single error leading to a goal in the Eredivisie this term, a stark contract from Spurs. In fact, the Lilywhites top this category when you look at Europe's top five leagues, conceding on ten occasions from their own errors, as per WhoScored.
This should greatly encourage Tottenham supporters that Slot's principles will help offer large improvements to the defensive basics that they have often missed over the course of the 2022/23 campaign.
