JAMMU: An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Nagrota area in the outskirts on Jammu.
Police sources said, "An information was received from the Army in Nagrota that one Sepoy identified as Biswajit Gogoi (25), son of Atul Gogai resident of Garaguri, District Golaghat, Assam, posted with 60 Rastriya Rifles (RR) Rajouri and attached Romeo Rear Force Nagrota allegedly committed suicide by using his service weapon."
"On getting information, a police team rushed to the spot which shifted the body to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu for postmortem," they said.
"Concerned police have started inquest proceedings", sources said, adding the motive behind his taking such an extreme step was not known immediately.
