Chelsea striker Armando Broja has been sent home from Albania international duty after suffering an ankle injury against Italy.
Broja was carried off the field and seen icing his ankle shortly after a challenge, which resulted in him watching the rest of the second half from the bench. Chelsea are set to carry out further medical checks in the coming days, but he is not expected back for Albania's upcoming friendly match against Armenia.
Whilst the injury isn't thought to be serious, the Blues' medical department are set to assess any potential damage in the next few days to understand the full extent of the 21-year-old's injury. Broja has started just twice so far this season for Chelsea after Thomas Tuchel convinced the youngster to stay at Stamford Bridge following interest from West Ham and Napoli.

Broja's injury is the latest blow to the Blues, with the striker now joining the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Carney Chukwuemeka, N'Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Wesley Fofana, Reece James and Ben Chilwell in being sidelined through injury. The Albanian striker signed a new six-year deal to remain at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future earlier this year but has failed to make a significant impact since returning from his loan spell with Southampton.
Graham Potter remains hopeful that the six-week break for the World Cup will see most of his injured players return in time for the Premier League's resumption after Christmas. Only Kante has been definitely ruled out of making a comeback for the next match against Bournemouth on December 27.
