Armagh’s Ulster Championship prospects have been dealt a huge blow with the news that star attacker Rian O’Neill is set to miss their clash with Donegal after being handed a proposed one-match ban.
According to RTÉ Sport, the Crossmaglen clubman has been cited from the post-match brawl at the end of last month’s Allianz Football League game in Letterkenny.
Armagh are already set to be without Aidan Nugent, Ciaran Mackin and Stefan Campbell for the quarter-final tie in Ballybofey, but have indicated their intention to appeal those bans.

Donegal have opted against appealing the one-match bans issued to defenders Neil McGee and Odhran McFadden-Ferry.
It is likely that Armagh will also appeal the proposed suspension of O’Neill, who was arguably the best player for Kieran McGeeney’s men during their League campaign.
Despite being tipped as potential candidates for relegation having survived a Division One play-off against Roscommon last season, the Orchard County began their campaign with stunning victories over Dublin and Tyrone and finished behind only Kerry and Mayo in the top flight.
Armagh are due to meet Donegal in Ballybofey on Sunday, April 24.
