Arjun Erigaisi wins Tata Steel Challengers with a round to spare

Arjun Erigaisi Challengers B Adhiban P Harikrishna Vidit Gujrathi Wijk Aan Zee

CHENNAI: Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi became the fourth Indian player after P Harikrishna, B Adhiban and Vidit Gujrathi to win the Tata Steel Challengers event at Wijk Aan Zee in The Netherlands on Saturday evening.

The 18-year-old won the tournament --- 9.5 points from 12 games ---- with a round to spare after his draw against Vietnam’s Thai Dan Van Nguyen. Arjun has now qualified for the 2023 edition of Tata Steel Masters.
